Rivian R1S Review: The Perfect Adventure Vehicle for Salida, Colorado
If you plan a trip to Salida, you will require a vehicle capable of traversing rugged terrain and unpredictable weather. The Rivian R1S makes for the ideal adventure vehicle in this regard, with its all-electric powertrain, four-wheel drive capability, 15 inches of ground clearance and 15-inch ground clearance taking you anywhere you desire in Salida.
Recently in Salida, we had the chance to test drive the Rivian R1S, and its performance and capabilities surprised us. It easily navigated mountain roads while its off-road trails proved unstoppable. Plus, we appreciated its spacious interior and comfortable ride!

Here are a few features we enjoyed about the Rivian R1S:
All-electric Powertrain: The R1S is equipped with an all-electric powertrain backed by a 105kWh battery pack which offers up to 314 miles of range, giving you enough energy for exploring Salida’s scenic wonders without worry about running out of juice.
Four-Wheel Drive: The R1S features four-wheel drive as standard, providing ample traction on any terrain.
15 Inches of Ground Clearance: With 15 Inches of Ground Clearance on board, taking it off-road doesn’t present a threat of becoming stuck.
Spacious interior: The R1S features an expansive interior that comfortably seats seven adults. Whilst its comfortable ride makes long road trips hassle-free.
Sleeping: Camp Mode makes sleeping in your vehicle possible.

Here are a few things we did not appreciate about the Rivian R1S:
Price: The R1S is expensive, starting at $72,500.
Range: Its range can be limited in cold weather or highway driving conditions.
Charging infrastructure: Rivian’s charging network may still be under development, so you may need help finding a charger in some locations.
Overall, the Rivian R1S is an excellent option for anyone in Salida looking for an economical yet capable adventure vehicle. While its price can be prohibitive for some travellers if your plans include extensive exploration, the R1S makes an excellent investment.
The R1S can tow up to 7,700 pounds and accelerates from zero to 60 mph in just 3.0 seconds, reaching 120 mph top speed. Furthermore, standard driver assistance features like adaptive cruise control and lane departure warning are standard in their design.
