WBSEDCL Invites Bids for 47 Electric Vehicle Charging Stations to Promote E-Mobility
West Bengal State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (WBSEDCL) has issued an invitation for bids for the provision, installation, operation and management of 47 electric vehicle (EV) charging stations throughout West Bengal State. Bid submission deadline for interested agencies or entities is September 20, 2023.
Stations will be installed across various municipalities and other public places, equipped with both AC and DC chargers. The successful bidder must commission these stations within six months after receiving the work order.
WBSEDCL is committed to increasing adoption of electric vehicles (EVs) across its state, and these charging stations will help make them more accessible to drivers. In addition, battery swapping stations will soon be installed so that EV drivers can quickly swap out depleted batteries with fresh, fully charged ones for quicker ride time.
Bidders for this tender must possess experience in automobile, e-mobility and/or EV charging infrastructure sectors and demonstrate annual average revenues of at least INR 10 Million across three out of the last five financial years with positive net worths.

West Bengal has made significant strides forward with regards to building its electric vehicle charging infrastructure with this tender. As more EVs become mainstream, so too has their demand for charging stations; therefore these new stations will help meet that demand and make EVs an attractive option for drivers.
WBSEDCL plans on installing 47 charging stations throughout the state as well as battery swapping stations – an easier and faster method for charging electric vehicles that may prove popular among drivers. Development of electric vehicle charging and battery swapping infrastructure is at the core of India’s effort to promote e-mobility.
